Garage Sale Treasures

Among other "special" items I found at yesterday's pro-life garage sale was a copy of this.

Of course I felt the need to add such musical classics as "Said Judas to Mary," "Locusts and Wild Honey," "I Danced in the Morning" and a whole pile of Haugen/Haas to our repertoire! (Or perhaps it was to prevent someone else from doing so. But I digress.)

Anyway, just as I was planning a quiet and appropriate demise
Squeaker happened to turn to the back and found THIS!

Yes, it's dance instructions for the Lord's Prayer choreographed "with the assistance of the Georgetown University Liturgical Dancers." According to the directions, these movements can easily be taught to the entire congregation. Any musical accompaniment "from folk to chant" is appropriate and as the community becomes very familiar with the moves, "they can even dance in silence as a kind of meditation." "The more the congregation repeats this dance, the more comfortable they feel with it..."

Gianna, don't you have a collection of like-minded books somewhere? Perhaps they can be safely stored together. In something lined with lead.

On a completely different note, I also found a commemorative plate featuring John Paul II and a chapel veil (thus restoring some semblance of balance to the day).
